Interpreter Services
Interpreter Services at Miller Children’s Hospital is designed to bridge the communication gap by providing medical interpretation to those limited English speaking patients and families. Being in a hospital environment can be overwhelming at times, especially if the patient speaks limited English. Interpreter Services is designed to assist patients, families and caregivers with education on diagnosis, discharge, treatment plans, medical consent and any other related communication needs.
Language Access
On-site Spanish Interpreters are available:
Monday – Friday, 24 hours-a-day, and on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. – 1 a.m.
On-site Cambodian Interpreter is available:
Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
For all other language needs, there is a complimentary Language Line phone service that is available 24/7 which can interpret more than 150 different languages. Interpreter Services can also bring in outside resources to meet special needs of patients and their families, such as those patients who communicate through sign language.
