Children’s Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Fashion Show & Silent Auction on Feb. 25

Designer fashion hits the runway to benefit the pediatric emergency department at Miller Children’s. The annual Miller Children’s Auxiliary Fashion Show and Silent Auction will be held at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. Hundreds of items will be auctioned off, including opportunity drawings to win $500, restaurant gift certificates, gift baskets, gourmet food and jewelry. During the luncheon and fashion show models will walk down the catwalk displaying clothes from Melrose Alley, which is located in LA’s hottest shopping district - Melrose Heights.

About the Palliative Cure Pursuit Walk

The Palliative Care Pursuit walk supports the Pediatric Palliative/ Supportive Care Program at Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach. This program improves the “quality of life” for children with life-threatening illnesses and helps address the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of pediatric patients and families.

One of Miller Children’s patients, Kellie, was born with Trisomy 13, a rare chromosomal abnormality. During the last few months of Kellie’s life, the supportive/palliative care program helped bring comfort to Kellie and her family. In her daughter’s memory, her mother, Rachel, organized this walk to give back to this program. All proceeds from the Palliative Care Pursuit Walk go directly towards the Supportive/Palliative Care Program at Miller Children’s.
