Young Professionals Association

The Young Professionals Association (YPA) focuses on building the culture of philanthropy into a new generation. YPA members (18 – 55 years old) are particularly inspired to support needed equipment for the children’s hospital that makes a direct impact in the lives of patients and families. With an annual contribution of $500 or more, anyone can join this new generation of philanthropists.

In 2010, the Young Professional Association is raising funds to purchase a GAITRite Portable Walkway System for pediatric rehabilitation at Miller Children’s. The GAITRite system:

• Measures cadence, step length, velocity and other gait parameters.
• All parameters can be tracked, reported, and graphed within minutes
• Assess step-by-step variability to determine dynamic balance and predict fall risk.

This helps therapists to get children in pediatric rehabilitation gain mobility back.
