Your First Clinic Visit
Your initial visit to Miller Children’s Hospital Rheumatology Center will begin with a family conference with one of our nurse specialists about your child’s current health, medical history and family history. Your child’s nurse will go over any paperwork and outline the expectations you can expect from the Rheumatology Center. After meeting with the nurse, patients and families will meet with their doctor who specializes in providing personalized care in pediatric rheumatic diseases.
Please allow at least one hour for your appointment, some appointments may take up to two hours on CCS clinic days, because your child will be seen by a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team. You and your child may be asked to stay and see the nurse, social worker or therapist before or after your appointment with the doctor.
