Community EventsMiller Children’s Hospital holds several community events each year to increase awareness of injury prevention and educate families. Walk This WayMiller Children’s Hospital partners with Safe Kids LA to participate in a pedestrian safety event, called Walk This Way. The event takes place at a local school to educate students on how to walk across the street safely, looking both ways before crossing the street during busy commuter hours. More than 400 students walk a route around a school to learn the safest places to cross the street. Students then get to go to different activity booths to learn injury prevention information and play interactive safety games. Long Beach Bicycle Grand PrixMiller Children’s Hospital will have a safety booth and distribute helmets at the Long Beach Bicycle Grand Prix to help raise awareness of helmet safety for children and adolescents in the Long Beach community.
