Surgical Specialties Outpatient Center

The Outpatient Surgical Specialties Center houses many of the comprehensive outpatient general and specialty surgical centers and clinics related to pediatric surgery at Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach. These outpatient centers and clinics are lead by the same board-certified pediatric surgeons and comprehensive multi-disciplinary specialty surgical care teams.

Specialty outpatient surgical programs include General Surgery, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT), Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery and Urology. The outpatient surgical centers and clinics are designed to evaluate, diagnose and consult on general and surgical care for kids. All surgical care is handled at a later time in the Surgical Center at Miller Children’s. Orthopedic surgery also is a surgical specialty offered at Miller Children’s Hospital in the Surgical Center and orthopedic evaluation and follow-up care is handled in the Orthopedic Outpatient Center.

Miller Children’s Stands Apart:

• Miller Children’s Hospital is one of the few hospitals in the area to provide reputable fellowship-trained pediatric surgeons.
• In partnership with neonatologists and the level III NICU, Miller Children’s general surgeons perform leading gastroschisis surgery and provide prenatal consults for expectant mothers.
• Pediatric neurosurgeons can perform neuroendoscopy brain surgery, which is a less invasive surgical procedure used to biopsy hard to reach tumors or drain cerebrospinal fluid from the brain.
• Miller Children’s plastic surgeons are experts in leading plastic surgery therapies such as the distraction osteogenesis.
